50 years ago today..
Today is the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech. Dr. King’s speech ranks as one of the best American speeches. The speech still holds significance today. Much has been overcome since 1963, but at the same time, much still has not. We still have racial inequalities, gender inequalities, inequalities based on who you choose to love, and prejudices for any assortment of reasons.
Take some time to reflect on this great speech and this great man who fought for this country, equality, unity, and peace.
Here’s a fact that I just learned about the speech, the ‘I have a dream’ portion of the speech was entirely ad-libbed by Dr. King.
